Jefferson County facilities back open

(Hillsboro) Area municipalities and county employees put in a lot of time and effort to plow the roads of over nine inches of snow that fell on Sunday and Monday combined. All Jefferson County offices were closed Tuesday due to the snowfall and weather conditions. County Executive Dennis Gannon says it was a tough decision to make, but it was the right one.

Gannon says the county Public Works Department did a good job of staying on the task of plowing the unincorporated roadways.

Jefferson County offices and the courts opened back up for business on Wednesday.

Nearly all Jefferson County municipal facilities were also closed on Tuesday.
