(Jefferson County) The Jefferson County Family YMCA is trying to push forward a new program to help parents who are emergency first responders.

Laura Borman is the Childcare Director at the Y. She provides more information on the YMCA’s Emergency Childcare Program.

Borman adds the YMCA will have a lot of safety precautions in place.

The Emergency Childcare Program is expected to kick start on Monday; however, the YMCA needs at least 10 kids registered before they can offer the program. Parents interested can call the YMCA at 636-931-9622.

Other than the the childcare program, staff at the YMCA are making wellness phone calls to constituents and offering outside help where needed.

Borman mentions the Y is focused on reaching out to the community to see who needs help and how they can help.
