Jefferson County Fatal Accident on Route B

(Jefferson County) One person is dead and another two seriously injured in a two vehicle accident in Jefferson County on Friday afternoon.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan being driven by 33-year-old Richard Nicely of Cedar Hill was driving north on Route B, north of Janssen’s Lake Drive, when he travelled into the southbound lanes and into the path of a 1996 Chrysler Concorde being driven by 88-year-old Paul Scaglione of Dittmer.

Scaglione was pronounced dead on scene by Big River Ambulance Personal.

Scaglione’s passenger, 87-year-old Joann Scaglione of Dittmer along with Nicely received serious injuries.

Joann was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital St. Louis while Nicely was taken by paramedics to Mercy Hospital South for treatment.

Nicely was later charged with Driving While Intoxicated resulting in death of another and DWI resulting in serious injuries.
