(Jefferson County) We’re in the midst of flu season and with that the number of reported cases in Jefferson County has not been as high compared to other counties from across Missouri.

As of Wednesday, Jefferson County has reported 289 cases of flu with one flu related death this season.

Dylan Steigerwald is an Epidemiologist with the Jefferson County Health Department. He says even with the numbers remaining relatively low this season, we’re not out of the woods yet.

Steigerwald gives advice on how to avoid getting the flu.

So far 2,079 cases of flu have been reported in across the state with 16 flu related deaths.

Flu season started in late September and will run through mid May.
