(HILLSBORO) The Jefferson County Health Department is a step further in its construction plans for a new headquarters in Hillsboro. Health department board of directors, the agency’s leadership team, representatives of First Community Bank, and Brockmiller Construction Company officials all gathered at the construction site last Wednesday for a groundbreaking ceremony. The site is near Hillsboro City Park at Highway 21 and Route B. according to Brianne Zwiener, Public Information Officer for the health department, the current health department building was constructed in the late 1940’s, it has become outdated and overcrowded.
Zwiener says the new facility will eliminate parking issues.
Zwiener says Brockmiller will begin work soon, construction is expected to take 54 weeks for a completion time of early 2025.
