Jefferson County School districts are going over their final preparations for the 2020-21 school year to begin this month. However, the recent increases in Covid-19 cases have made those plans difficult at times. Jefferson County Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar says the superintendents have had to make tough decisions.

Vollmar says the school districts are doing a good job with their safety measures.

Some private and catholic schools have already started the school year, with St. Pius the 10th high school starting next week. All Jefferson County public school districts will begin the week of August 24th or August 31st.
