(Hillsboro) Continued testing of Covid-19 has resulted in some positive cases of the virus, but the numbers have stayed low. Kelly Vollmar is the Director of the Jefferson County Health Department. She says once they were able to free up some staff from the frontlines of the pandemic, they were able to run some more detailed numbers, and the trend looks pretty good.

Vollmar says the three days of additional testing locations last week brought in some good news.

Vollmar says only three positive cases came back from those 12-hundred tests that were taken last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

After the results from Monday, the Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of 4 new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 in the county. This brings the total number of positive cases to 411 in Jefferson County. Of those 411, 114 are active, with 277 recoveries, and 20 deaths. 157 of those positive cases have been at long term care facilities.
