(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Health Department is moving into another busy time of the year. Not only is Covid-19 still widespread and cases continue to increase, but influenza season is approaching as well. Health Department Director Kelley Vollmar says her staff will be busy testing for both.

Meanwhile, the Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of 104 new positive cases for Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the county. This brings the total number of positive cases to 4,622 in Jefferson County. Of those 4,622, 1,127 are active, with 3,427 recoveries, and 64 deaths. 589 of those positive cases have been at long term care facilities.
