(Jefferson County) More than 1400 people have been vaccinated with the Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine by the Jefferson County Health Department (JCHD).

Brianne Zwiener is a Communications Specialist with the JCHD. She says more than 600 people received the vaccine at their most recent vaccine clinic.

The health department has hosted other vaccination clinics at its High Ridge location.

Zwiener adds they are currently in the works on planning for additional vaccine clinics in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, COVID-19 numbers continue to be on a downward trend in the county according to JCHD Epidemiologist Sara Wilton.

The JCHD continues to follow Missouri State guidelines in distributing the vaccine.

Right now vaccinations are open to those under the state’s 1A, 1B Tier 1 and Tier 2 stage.

People wanting to receive the COVID-19 vaccine through the JCHD can register at Jeffcohealth.org/COVID19-Vaccine.

So far the health department has received around 60,000 interest forms from those wanting to get the vaccine.

In other news with the Jefferson County Health Department, the board of trustees will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday afternoon at 3.

The board will vote on whether or not to extend or terminate the current county-wide Mask Order.
