(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Health Department officially deemed the county in a Red status in terms of the latest spike in Covid-19 cases. Director Kelley Vollmar explains what red actually means to the public.

Vollmar says area schools can continue to do what they are currently doing.

On Wednesday, Jefferson County Health Department has been notified of 49 new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county. This brings the total number of positive cases to 3,297 in Jefferson County. Of those 3,297, 813 are active, with 2,422 recoveries, and 49 deaths. 502 of those positive cases have been at long term care facilities.
