Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office Charges Festus High School Football Player with Rape

(Festus) A Festus High School football player has been charged by the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with rape for an alleged assault that happened back in August.

According to court documents, Austin Anderson sexually assaulted a female at a friend’s home in Festus.

The female refused Anderson multiple times before the assault occurred, police say.

Court documents go on to say the victim did not report the rape or tell anyone because she was unsure what to say.

After the victim finally told her mother about the assault, Festus police were contacted.

Anderson, who is a senior at Festus High School, was 17 when the alleged incident occurred. He has since been charged with Rape in the 2nd Degree, a Class D felony, and Sodomy in the 2nd Degree, also a Class D Felony.

Anderson was arrested and has since posted a $10,000 bond and was released from jail.
