Jefferson County Public Administrator retiring

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Public Administrator will be retiring at the end of next month. Steve Farmer has served as the Public Administrator since 2012. The Public Administrator’s Office is responsible for each person, or Ward…whose oversight is entrusted to this office by the Probate Court through an appointment process. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says Mr. Farmer plans to move to Florida to be closer to family.

Gannon says the county will be accepting applications to fill the Public Administrator’s position for the remainder of the current term in office.

The qualifications to be considered to become the appointed Public Administrator includes, being a registered voter in Jefferson County, must be a county resident for the last year, must be at least 24 years of age, and must be a citizen for the last twelve months.
