Jefferson County records first death due to COVID-19

Jefferson County suffered its first death due to the coronavirus.
The Jefferson County Health Department announced Thursday afternoon that a woman in her 80s had died due to complications from COVID-19.
County executive Dennis Gannon announced late Thursday afternoon that the state of emergency for the county and the Stay at Home Order have both been officially extended.
The health department was notified of eight new positive cases for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in the county Thursday.
This brings the total number of positive cases to 47 in Jefferson County.
