Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak on Chauvin verdict

(Hillsboro) Former Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin was found guilty on all three counts related to the death of George Floyd on Tuesday afternoon. Jefferson County Sheriff Dave Marshak agrees with the jury’s decision, considering the evidence and how it was presented.

Sheriff Marshak has a close friend that holds a high-end position in law enforcement and is highly respected by his peers and is an African-American male. Sheriff Marshak says he had an interesting opinion on the subject.

Chauvin was found guilty of Second-Degree Unintentional Murder, Third-Degree Murder, and Second-Degree Manslaughter. Sentencing will take place in eight weeks, Chauvin could face up to 40 years in prison.
