Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies pursue vehicle reportedly stolen out of St. Louis City

(Jefferson County) Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office were involved in a vehicle pursuit on Monday afternoon.
According to sheriff’s office spokesman Grant Bissell, a deputy, who was checking license plates on Highway 61-67 in the Imperial area, got a hit on a vehicle that had been reported stolen out of St. Louis City.
At that point the deputy tried to perform a traffic stop.
The vehicle made it a little farther southbound on I-55 before coming to a stop.
At that point deputies were able to take the driver into custody without further incident.
The suspect is said to be a 54-year-old man from St. Louis. His name has not been released pending formal charges.
