Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office begins testing for promotions

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has started the process for promotion. It was recently announced Captain Gary Higginbotham is being promoted to Major, and Captain Andy Sides will be moving from the administration side to the law enforcement side. This will allow for a new Captain position to fill and likely a Lieutenant position to fill as well. Sheriff Dave Marshak says they started the testing process with around two dozen candidates.
