Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office conducting active shooter training

(Hillsboro) Members of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office began Active Shooter Training this week and will continue into August. Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Grant Bissell says this is something the department has been doing for years, but with certain unfortunate events that have taken place in our country…the importance of this training is huge.

Bissell says those going through the training will use certain aspects and scenarios.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department active shooter training will be staggered over the next few weeks so they can rotate every member of the agency for their training session.
