(Jefferson County) This week the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be going through a re-inspection from the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).

According to Lieutenant Colonel Tim Whitney, the inspections occur every four years.

Whitney explains why having the CALEA Accreditation is so important to their agency.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was first accredited by CALEA in 2005 with the most recent re-accreditation occurring in March 2017.
