(Hillsboro) New Year’s Eve is tonight and the change over to 2022 begins. Many residents may be out and about celebrating with family and friends. Lieutenant Nick Forler with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says many people are more aware of the dangers of driving while intoxicated, which helps law enforcement tremendously.
Sheriff Dave Marshak expects most gatherings will be smaller than normal due to Covid-19.
Several law enforcement agencies will have extra patrols out on New Year’s Eve and early on New Year’s Day keeping the roadways safe.
