Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office promotes several members, Sides named Major

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has made several promotions following the retirement of Major Gary Higginbotham earlier this week. Sheriff Dave Marshak runs down the changes which starts with a new Major.

Sheriff Marshak says the department has been working on these details for a few years.

Sheriff Marshak says it made sense to promote Captain Sides after bringing him in from another agency a few years ago.

All the promotions have been made official and all of those that were promoted have started their new roles within the department. Major Gary Higginbotham’s last day with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was on Tuesday.
