Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says DWIs are increasing

(Hillsboro) As we head into the 4th of July holiday weekend, DWIs have been on the rise. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has four deputies assigned to the DWI Enforcement division. One of those is Deputy Shawn Lonness. He says their department has been very busy this year.
Deputy Lonness says things have been changing significantly since the pandemic began.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office along with many other law enforcement agencies will have extra patrols out this weekend for the 4th of July holiday.
