Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office updating their officers manual

(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is constantly changing and updating its policies and procedures, especially when state laws change or are tweaked. Captain Andy Sides says they began the process of updating their office manual.

Major Gary Higginbotham says the manual is important for every member of the department to know, so their bases are covered when something as serious as a lawsuit is filed.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office manual will take several months to completely update, and they hope to have it finished by this summer.
