(Hillsboro) In an effort to help fight COVID-19, Jefferson County will be receiving more than 26.4 million from the federal government as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act passed by President Donald Trump in late March. As a whole Missouri received more than $2.3 billion and then disbursed more than $173 million to St. Louis County and more than $122 million to the Kansas City area. As far as opening up Jefferson County with Phase on last week, Gannon thinks things are going well, but time will tell.

Government reports indicate Jefferson County has spent more than $191-thousand on expenses directed around COVID-19.
