Jefferson County Weekend Accidents

(Jefferson County) A House Springs woman was killed in a single vehicle crash in Jefferson County early Sunday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2017 Honda Civic driven by 24-year-old Brittany Uzell was driving north on highway 141 at Ellis Grove Parkway at a high rate of speed and lost control.

As a result, the vehicle travelled off the right side of the road and struck a light post.

Uzell was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS personnel. The accident happened around 1:44 Sunday morning.

One person was injured in a motorcycle crash Sunday evening in Jefferson County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1997 Harley Davidson driven by 34-year-old Shaun Mercer of Imperial was travelling on Flucom Road near Hi Land Park Drive when he failed to negotiate a curve to the right, travelled across the center of the road and overturned before being ejected from the bike.

Mercer received serious injuries and was taken by survival flight to Mercy Hospital South.

The accident occurred around 7 Sunday evening. Mercer was later arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
