Jefferson County Weekend Accidents

(Jefferson County) One person is dead and three other injured in a single vehicle crash in Jefferson County Sunday evening.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a Can-Am Commander being operated by a 17-year-old male from Hillsboro was travelling northbound on Engledow Road when he lost control, began sliding and ran off the left side of the road.

The ATV impacted a tree before continuing north off the road hitting a second tree.

The operator received minor injuries while a 13-year-old male passenger from Cedar Hill died in the accident. He was pronounced deceased on scene.

The two other passengers, a 13-year-old male from Hillsboro and a 16-year-old male from Hillsboro both received serious injuries.

Those injured were transported by ambulance to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. The accident happened around 6:05 Sunday evening.

A Dittmer man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident Sunday evening in Jefferson County.

56-year-old William Hoffman was driving a 2013 Harley Davidson FLSTC west on Highway 30 east of Windcrest Drive when he was travelling too fast for road conditions and the vehicle began to skid before sliding on its left side.

Hoffman was ejected from the motorcycle. Hoffman was taken by Big River Ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

The accident happened at 6:15 Sunday evening.

Two people were injured in a one vehicle accident in Jefferson County Sunday evening.

A 1999 Ford Ranger driven by a 17-year-old male from De Soto was driving south on Route V north of Weathered Stone Drive when he lost control, travelled off the right side of the road before striking two trees.

The driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by survival flight to Mercy Hospital St. Louis.

The passenger, a 15-year-old male from De Soto received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital Jefferson.

The accident happened around 6:10 Sunday evening.

A Byrnes Mill woman was injured in a single car accident Saturday afternoon in Jefferson County.

A 2007 Nissan Quest driven by 54-year-old Judy Daniel was driving east on Antire Road west of Pere Cliff Drive when she slid off the road, struck several trees, and slid down an embankment.

Daniel received serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

The accident happened around 3:18 Saturday evening.
