Jefferson County weekend accidents

(Jefferson County) A Bonne Terre woman was killed in a single vehicle accident in Jefferson County Saturday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol a 2003 Chevy Tracker driven by 66-year-old Mary Weinkein was driving in the right lane of northbound Highway 67 when the rear tire blew out.

As a result the vehicle over-corrected to the left, travelled off the left side of the road before overturning and ejecting the driver.

Weinkein was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS personnel.

A 15-year-old male passenger from Bonne Terre revived minor injuries in the accident and was transported by ambulance to Mercy Jefferson.

The crash occurred around 11:44 on Saturday morning.

Two females from Cedar Hill were both injured in a two vehicle accident Saturday afternoon in Jefferson County.

A 2001 Subaru Forester driven by 78-year-old Georgia Sieberg was travelling eastbound on Highway 30 at the same time a 2021 Chevy Silverado driven by 65-year-old Michael Lawson of Lonedell was stopped at a stop sign at Conrad Smith Drive.

According to the highway patrol, Lawson drove the vehicle forward resulting the front of Sieberg’s vehicle striking the left front side of Lawson’s truck.

Sieberg received moderate injuries while her passenger 83-year-old Beverly McNulty of Cedar Hill sustained serious injuries.

Both were taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

The accident happened before 3:30 on Saturday afternoon.
