Jefferson County Weekend Accidents

(Jefferson County) A Dittmer man died in a one vehicle crash in Jefferson County early Sunday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria being driven by Randy McDowell was driving westbound on Highway 30 at West Forest Hills Drive when he travelled off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

McDowell was pronounced dead on scene by emergency personnel.

The accident happened around 3 Sunday morning.

In a separate accident late Sunday morning, an Illinois man was injured in a single vehicle accident on Marble Springs Road in Jefferson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2006 Kawasaki being driven by 53-year-old Roger Kluge of Edwardsville, Illinois was travelling eastbound on Marble Springs Road west of Metropolitan Boulevard when he slowed down for a curve to the left and locked up the rear brakes.

As a result the Kawasaki overturned and the driver was ejected. Kluge received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital South.

The accident occurred around 11:20 Sunday morning.
