(Hillsboro) The Jefferson County Council along with the special workgroup to handle county Cares Act monies are finishing up some of the final applications for reimbursement. Jefferson County Executive Dennis Gannon says the process was difficult but they found their footing in time.

As of this week, there were around 60 businesses and private entity applications still pending. Jefferson County has spent around 24 million of the 24.6 million dollars allocated from the Federal Government for Cares Act funding. The final date to distribute the funding is June 30th, however, the final application date for private entities and businesses to submit the paperwork was in November.
