Jefferson Dominates Fredericktown On J-98 The Boot

(Jefferson) The Jefferson Bluejays took down the Fredericktown Blackcats 50-0 Friday night on J-98 The Boot. It only took three plays on offense for the Bluejays to score their first points of the season.

Will’s twin brother Drew Breeze is the starting quarterback for Jefferson. Drew followed his brother with a rushing touchdown of his own.

Jefferson ran away with the game fairly early, so Bluejays head coach Alex Rougly gave his younger players some run in the second half. Freshman Karson Haefner had a pretty good start to his high school career.

Rougly wanted to avoid a hangover from last season when his team made it to the Class 2 semifinals. He was satisfied with his teams’ performance, to say the least.

Jefferson beats Fredericktown for the second consecutive season-opener. Last year, the Bluejays won the week one contest 41-6. Jefferson will travel to Cuba next Friday while Fredericktown hosts Hermann.
