Jefferson Downs Crystal City 7-1

(CRYSTAL CITY)    In a game heard Tuesday on AM 1400 KJFF and mymoinfo.com, the Jefferson Blue Jays downed the Crystal City Hornets 7-1 behind the strong pitching of Cole Robinson. Robinson was relieved after going six and two thirds innings, he gave up one run, six hits, walked one and struckout nine.

Blue Jays coach Robert Kuehnle said Robinson was in control of his game.

The Blue Jays were helped out offensively by two homeruns through the power alley in right center field off the bats of right handed batters Gavin Theodoro and Garrett Lalumondier. Kuehnle says he talked to his hitters about taking the ball to the opposite field.

For Crystal City, Cale Schaumburg took the loss. He pitched three and a third innings, giving up four runs, four hits, he walked 3 and struckout six.

Jefferson improves to 10-8 and will play the St. Vincent Indians Wednesday. Crystal City slips to 7-10 and they will be at Grandview Thursday to play the 1-10 Eagles.
