Jefferson Baseball Falls in Semis, Will Play for 3rd

(Ozark) The Jefferson Blue Jays came up just short of a state championship game, as they fell 4-1 to St. Pius of Kansas City Wednesday in the Class 3 baseball semifinals on J-98. The Blue Jays got out front first, with Colby Ott ripping a base hit in the first inning to drive in Nolan Roth..

But the Warriors tied the game in the third and took the lead for good in the fifth..

Karter Muck dominated on the mound from there, striking out 12 without a walk in the complete-game victory. The 22-3 Warriors tacked on the additional insurance run in the 6th. Jefferson came in on a tear winning 15 of their last 18 and had already made school history by winning their district as well as a sectional and quarterfinal game. The Bluejays fall to 17-9 and will now play either Linn or Elsberry in the Class 3 third-place game Thursday. You can hear it with coverage starting at 10:45 on 98.5 FM J98.
