Jefferson Football Hosts St. Vincent In Week 9 Showdown on J98

(Festus) The St. Vincent Indians football team will travel up to Festus to take on the Jefferson Bluejays in the final regular season game of the year on J98 tonight. The Indians have won five straight games after dropping their season opener to Valle Catholic and sit at 5-1 on the season. Head coach Tim Schumer says with the changes in how districts are seeded, this is the most important game of the year.

The Bluejays come into the contest at 4-2 having won their last two games. Jefferson put up 42 points on Grandview and 50 against Chaffee in those two wins. Head coach Alex Rouggly seconds coach Schumer’s thoughts on week 9 being the most important due to district seeding.

This game went in favor of the Indians a year ago 41-28. St. Vincent had to make a change at quarterback due to senior Garrett Dobblare graduating and coach Schumer thinks the offense has found its stride under John Wibbenmeyer.

Coach Rouggly once again shares that sentiment that his team can still get better in the final week of the regular season.

The Jefferson Bluejays (4-2) will host the St. Vincent Indians (5-1) tonight at 7 on J98.
