Jefferson looks to jostle up St. Pius’ strong second half of hoops season on KJFF

(Festus) An always-intense rivalry is renewed in high school boys’ basketball Friday on KJFF.

The St. Pius Lancers visit the Jefferson Blue Jays in a conference and crosstown showdown.

St. Pius has been on a roll in the second half of the season.

Lead by senior Nate Ruble’s 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists per game, the Lancers have won nine of their last 11 games to reach 14-8.

Head coach Chris Miller says his team came together when they found their identity.

Jefferson is hoping to close the regular season strong.

Even as senior Colton Richardson averages 19 points and 8 rebounds per contest, the Blue Jays have dropped 13 of their last 17 to fall to 7-15.

The Jays will look to break a 3-game losing streak in the series with the Lancers.

Jefferson hosts St. Pius with pregame coverage starting Friday evening at 6:45 on AM 1400 KJFF.
