Jefferson meets Grandview for district volleyball championship on KJFF

A volleyball district champion will be crowned Monday when the Jefferson Blue Jays host the Grandview Eagles in the Class 2 District 4 championship game on KJFF.

Jefferson is in the middle of possibly the best season in school history.

The Blue Jays improved to 29-6-1 with their win in the district semifinals and are ranked fourth in the state in Class 2.

Junior outside hitters Kristyn Loyd and Ava Roth have lead the way for a dynamic attack.

But head coach Tara Fish says, lead by Roth, R-7 is an equally impressive defensive team.

Grandview comes in at 11-13-1 and has one of the best front-line players in Jefferson County in junior middle hitter Anna Belle Wakeland.

But Fish believes they can counter the Eagles at the net with their own star junior middle blocker, Emma Breier.

The Blue Jays won the regular-season matchup with the Eagles in straight sets. Jefferson battles Grandview in the Class 2 District 4 championship.

Coverage starts at 5:45 Monday evening on AM 1400 KJFF.
