Jefferson Pitching and Hitting Solid in Win vs St. Vincent

(FESTUS) The Jefferson Blue Jays get contributions up and down the lineup en route to an 8-4 home victory over St. Vincent tonight on KJFF.

Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the 3rd inning, Jefferson’s number 8 hitter Levi Roth puts the Jays on top.

The Jays then made it 5-2 in the 4th when number 5 hitter Levi Ebersoldt drilled one to left to bring home Braden Harmon.

Jefferson starting pitcher Ricky Daugherty throws 5.2 innings, surrendering two earned runs on five hits while walking none and striking out six. Daugherty says he felt pretty comfortable out there with the offense providing good run support.

St. Vincent head coach Corey Sauer takes a positive away from the loss and that’s the fact that senior Matt Rellergert has done good things this season.

The loss for the Indians drops them to 5-10. Jefferson’s 8 to 4 win puts them at 9-7 this season.
