(Festus) The Jefferson R-7 Archery program was recently awarded two grants to help with funding.

Jefferson schools Superintendent Clint Johnston says the first grant was from the National Rifle Association (NRA) worth $5,900 and the second grant was from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) worth $1,500.

According to Johnston the R-7 Archery program has really taken off.

The R-7 Archery program has qualified for state and 10 students are expected to be competing in the state 3D Tournament coming up later in March.
