Jefferson R-7 Baseball’s 2019 Squad Features Impactful Underclassmen
(FESTUS) The Jefferson R-7 baseball team is entering the 2019 season with Levi Ebersoldt leading the way in pitching and infielder Colby Ott leading the offense.
As a sophomore last year, Levi threw 39 innings, struck out 33 batters, had an ERA of 0.72, and tossed 4 complete games. Head coach Robert Kuehnle expects much of the same from Levi as a junior.
Sophomore Ott not only continues to impress Coach Kuehnle, but other coaches around the area as well.
As for the rest of the offense, Coach Kuehnle is really excited to have SEMO football commit Andrew Graves coming back after a year off.
Other guys include Shannon Dowd, Erik Eisenbeis, and Jacob Bridges.
The Jefferson baseball team went 10-13 last season, losing to Saxony Lutheran in the Class 3 District 3 tournament. This year, the Blue Jays have West County, Kingston, Herculaneum, Grandview, St. Pius, and Arcadia Valley in their district, which is again District 3. Jefferson will actually begin the regular season against the AV Tigers next Tuesday at home at 4:30.
