Jefferson Spoils Perryville’s Homecoming, 28-26
The Saturday showdown in Perryville came down to the wire, as the Jefferson Blue Jays football team pulls off a 28-26 victory over the Perryville Pirates. It would not be easy for the Blue Jays, as Jefferson would jump out to a 19-7 lead in the first half.

Jefferson mounted a second half comeback victory, which started with two touchdown passes from senior quarterback Kole Williams. Nathan Edington had the game-sealing pick 6.

The Blue Jays defense forced five turnovers and held off a last ditch effort from the Pirates on an onside kick. Jefferson head coach Matt Atley was excited about the victory, but says the team has plenty to improve on.

Perryville head coach Brent Roth says the team made too many mistakes.

The Pirates fall to 3-3 and travel to Central-New Madrid County next week. The Blue Jays improve to 6-0 and host Grandview next week.
