Jefferson, St. Pius lead JCAA Small-School volleyball all-conference teams

This year’s all-conference teams for volleyball in the Small-School Division of the Jefferson County Athletics Association have been announced.

The most successful team in Jefferson County took home the majority of honors, as the Jefferson Blue Jays finished with 5 all-conference selections.

Jefferson also had the Player of the Year in the JCAA Small-School Division in junior Kirstyn Loyd and the conference’s Coach of the Year in Tara Fish.

Loyd lead the Blue Jays with 472 kills as Jefferson won a single-season school record 33 matches and finished third in the state in Class 2.

Loyd was joined by junior teammates Ava Roth and Emma Breier as first-team all-conference, as all three players finished the season with at least 300 kills, 30 aces and 220 digs.

The St. Pius Lancers made up the rest of the first team in the JCAA Small-School Division with freshman Hannah Leftridge, junior Hanna Burch and seniors Kennedy Lane and Summer Meyer.

Second-team all-conference includes Jefferson juniors Paige Siebert and Malayne Lednick; senior Macy Pilliard of the Herculaneum Blackcats; junior Abbie Edwards of the Crystal City Hornets; junior Kamille Graham of the St. Vincent Indians; and senior Natalee Moore and junior Anna Belle Wakeland of the Grandview Eagles.

Honorable mentions went to Grandview senior Lilly Long; Crystal City junior Molly Clemmons; St. Vincent junior Macy Lukefahr; Herculaneum sophomore Mackenzie Duncan; and St. Pius seniors Ava Werner and Amelia Rixford.
