Jefferson, St. Pius pace selections for JCAA Small-School all-conference volleyball

The 2020 Jefferson County Athletic Association has named its all-conference volleyball team for the Small-School Division.

Leading the way on the first-team all-conference was St. Pius junior Kennedy Lane.

The Lancer outside hitter was the league player of the year after posting 411 kills and 36 serving aces.

Lane is joined on the first-team by fellow Lancer Sarah Wells, who handed out 506 assists to go with 29 kills, 23 aces and 9 blocks from the setter position, and junior libero Summer Meyer, who lead St. Pius to another JCAA Small-School Division title.

3 Jefferson Blue Jays were first-team all-conference in senior Laney Smith and sophomores Ava Roth and Kirstyn Loyd.

Roth and Loyd finished top-two on the team in kills and aces, leading the Blue Jays to a second-place finish in the league.

The final first-team all-conference nod went to Marissa Cooper of St. Vincent.

The Indians were represented on the second-team by Kamille Graham, alongside Jefferson sophomore Emma Breier, Grandview senior Delanie Dierker and Herculaneum‘s Paige Fowler, a senior, and Lexi Ashe, a junior.

Two more St. Pius players earned honorable mention all-conference in seniors Kirsten Schrader and Molly Lewis, joined by St. Vincent’s Zoey Wibbenmeyer and Jefferson’ Paige Siebert.

The Crystal City Hornets had 3 players named honorable mention all-conference in senior Mattie Edwards and sophomores Abbie Edwards and Molly Clemmons.

The Hornets’ Krystin Shaffer split Coach of the Year honors with Jefferson’s Tara Fish.
