Jefferson stays hot, sweeps Festus volleyball on KJFF

(Festus) The Jefferson Blue Jays are hitting their stride on the volleyball court, as evidenced by a win in straight sets over the Festus Tigers Thursday on KJFF.

The Blue Jays rallied from an early deficit and finished with a 16-6 run to win the first set 25-18.

Jefferson would race out to a big lead in the second set and hold on to win 25-12 behind Emma Breier and Kirstyn Loyd.

Jefferson ended the third set on a 15-8 run to win it 25-22 and wrap up the match.

Breier bashed 12 kills without an error, while Loyd finished with 8 kills and 18 assists.

The sophomores were named Applebee’s of Farmington Players of the Game.

Blue Jays head coach Tara Fish says, like the rest of the team, Breier and Loyd play with a lot of joy.

Jefferson has now won six of its last 7 matches to improve to 8-4.

Festus fall to 2-8.
