(HERCULANEUM, MO) The 2-0 Jefferson Blue Jays high powered offense heads to Herculaneum to face off with the 1-1 Blackcats on AM 1400 KJFF on Friday Night. Lead by Dream Team runningback Andrew Graves the Blue Jays have scored over 50 points in each of their first two games. Head coach Alex Rouggly says that this year’s Jefferson team is unlike the other’s he’s coached the last 3 years.

While the 108 points scored through 2 weeks has caught many of eyes throughout the listening area, coach Rouggly reminds you not to sleep on their defense, because his team isn’t.

Coach Rouggly says that behind a new coaching staff this year, the Blackcats have looked like a faster team than in years past.

That’s first year head coach Cody Hunter, a Herculaneum alumni, that coach Rouggly is referring to. Coach Hunter says that he wanted to build a staff with a contagious energy.

Coach Hunter won his debut over Cuba 18-14 but is coming off a loss to Fredericktown 26-12 last Friday night. Coach Hunter says his team is keeping their focus on getting better, both the players and the coaches.

Coach Hunter knows the Blue Jays offense will be tough to contain, and the Blackcats must play sound defense.

Kickoff between the Blue Jays and the Blackcats is set for 7:00 on Friday Night from Herculaneum High School. Tune in at 6:00 to Regional Radio for the Fliegs Equipment Pregame Show.
