Jefferson to host Kingston in Class 3 Boys Basketball Sectionals

(FESTUS) The Sectional round of the MSHSAA Boys Basketball Tournament begins Tuesday evening, and two local schools will face off for the rights to continue their season. The Kingston Cougars are 18-9 and are coming off a win against Greenville in the Class 3 District 3 Championship. They’ll face the Class 3 District 4 champion Jefferson Blue Jays, who are 22-5 with a 17 game winning streak. Cougars head coach Paul Hamilton expects a competitive game and challenging defense from Jefferson.
Jefferson head coach Sean Breeze says the outside shooting at Kingston is impressive.
To Breeze’s point, both Cody Yates and Mason Nelson had 26 points for Kingston in the district championship. Hamilton says his Cougars need to keep up the good work to beat Jefferson.
Breeze expects the battle on the glass to be a factor in the game.
