Jefferson Volleyball Success Could Mean Great Things for Blue Jays Girls Basketball

(FESTUS) Brandon Joines returns for his 4th year as the Jefferson girls basketball coach and brings back six seniors. They are Heidi Hearst, Jenna Curtois, Maddie Fuller, Gracie Fish, Laney Smith, and Sabrina Cadenhead.

Joines says they got a chance to play Perryville, Chaffee, and Delta in a jamboree last week, winning all three matches and getting all of his players some minutes.

Joines and the Jays did lose their all-time leading rebounder in Hanna Floyd, last season’s lead blocker in Meghan Boulicault, and steals leader in Hannah Becherer. He knows it’s a lot to replace, but Joines believes he has the pieces to do so.

Jefferson will begin the regular season on Monday as the 3-seed in the Valley Caledonia Tournament and will take on the host Vikings at 8:30 p.m.
