Many great softball players have emerged from Jefferson County, but you’ll find few as consistently excellent as Catryn Cattoor.
In her final season with the Jefferson Blue Jays, Cattoor was a first-team all-state catcher for a second straight year, and she made the Regional Radio Dream Team in her senior season as well.
Cattoor says she’s aware of the talent in the area, and that’s why she does not take this honor lightly.
Cattoor saved her best season as a hitter for last, posting an impressive .613 average this fall with 9 doubles, 6 triples, 7 home runs and 30 runs batted in.
She points to quieting the noise when she steps to the plate for getting her to the next level.
But Cattoor says she had too many good people in her corner to fail.
Cattoor will continue playing softball at Washington University in St. Louis.
