Jefferson’s Historic Football Season Ends in Class 2 Semifinals

(Lamar) Jefferson’s season came to an end this afternoon in the Class 2 semifinals as the Bluejays fell 42-7 at Lamar.

Jefferson fell down two touchdowns before they knew what hit them.

Lamar took their first drive the length of the field

Jefferson fumbled the ensuing kickoff and this time the Tigers had only a short field to navigate.

Lamar went up 35 at the half and scored on their first seven possessions.

Jefferson finally got on the scoreboard in the 4th.

Jefferson coach Alex Rouggly says in a high-level game like this you can’t afford to give the opposition opportunities.

Jefferson had already made school history by advancing all the way to the semis.

Coach Rouggly says they won’t let the final game define their season.

In fact, he sees only positives moving forward.

Jefferson ends the year at 9-3.

11-1 Lamar advances to the Class 2 title game on Friday where they will play St. Pius the tenth out of Kansas City.

Lamar will be seeking its 13th state title.
