Kingston Boys Basketball Gets Historic Win over Jefferson
(FESTUS) The Kington Cougars boys basketball team made program history Monday evening, by defeating Jefferson 54-42 in the Class 3 Sectional round. The Blue Jays took an early 7-0 lead, but Kingston answered with a 19-0 run that ran from the middle of the first quarter until the start of the second quarter.

The Cougars would maintain control throughout, but Jefferson would not quit.

Nate Breeze’s ten points in the quarter and 18 for the game was not enough for the Blue Jays to defeat Kingston. The Cougars were led in scoring by Cody Yates, who finished with 27 points. The win was the first sectional win in Kingston history, and head coach Paul Hamilton said the support of the community helped make the moment special.

Kingston is now 19-9 on the season and will host New Madrid County Central on Saturday for the right to advance to the Show-Me-Showdown in Columbia.
