Kingston Girls Ready to Surprise
December 7, 2017 1:24PM CST
Six seniors departed and a new coach arrived for the Kingston girls basketball team in 2017. Head Coach Steven Barnett, a 2013 West County graduate, has taken over a seven win squad from 2016 and is poised to determine a new path for Kingston basketball.
He says the Cougars are spending the early part of the year learning and becoming comfortable with one another.
Barnett says it’s been a combination of upper and lower classmen contributing in the first three games.
The first-year head coach says he’s a firm believer in defense wins championships. Because of that philosophy, the tempo the Cougars possess will be an uptick from years past which the coach says will be noticeable.
Kingston is currently 0-3 and hosts Lesterville on Friday night.
