Kingston’s Yates Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week

(Cadet) Congratulations to Kingston junior Cody Yates for earning the Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week distinction. The Cougars guard led Kingston to two victories last week and averaged 33 points per game, 9.5 rebounds, and 3.5 steals. In a duel with Andrew Starkey, Starkey scored 44, and Yates scored 42 and lifted Kingston to a 73-70 overtime win over Fredericktown. He scored 24 against St. Paul. The Cougars are 5-1 with their only loss coming in the championship game of the Valley Caledonia tournament to the undefeated Bunker Eagles. Kingston coach Paul Hamilton says a big reason why the Cougars are rolling is because of Yates, who averages 27.7 points per game…

Yates shot 61.4% from the field, 55.6% from three, and didn’t miss a single free throw. As our Applebees of Farmington Athlete of the Week, Yates gets a certificate, a t-shirt and a coupon good for a free entree from Applebees of Farmington.
