Lady Blackcat Soccer Team Ranked In Top 10 In The State For First Time Ever

(Fredericktown) The Fredericktown Lady Blackcat soccer team is ranked in the top 10 in the state in Class 2 for the first time in program history. 10th ranked Fredericktown is 9-2-1 after taking down Cape Central on Monday.

In the 7-2 victory over the Tigers, senior Alivia Buxton tied her own school record with 6 goals in a game and broke her school own record for goals in a season with 31. Lady Blackcats coach D.J. McFadden says staying on the pitch has been key for the Mississippi State commit.

Along with Kyndal Dodd in goal, McFadden says this team has the right pieces in place.

In his 8th season as head coach, McFadden has never been to a district championship game. In fact, he doesn’t believe Fredericktown has ever been to a district championship. That’s just one of the goals he and his team set before the season kicked off.

Another goal on that list is to beat the Class 4 Cape Notre Dame Bulldogs Tuesday evening.

Fredericktown heads to Cape Girardeau Tuesday evening for a 6 o’clock match against the Bulldogs.
